What is Doors Open?

Doors Open is a celebration of community heritage. This event is open to all and admission is always FREE. Since 2002, Doors Open events have attracted people from all across Ontario. Residents and visitors are invited to discover Ontario’s hidden heritage treasures, some of which have never been open to the public.

In order to participate in Doors Open, a site is required to have historic, architectural or cultural significance. Sites can include: commercial buildings, places of worship, cemeteries, inns, schools, factories, theatres, boats, museums, fire halls, railway stations, lookouts, industrial sites, private homes, and the list goes on.
